Telewave.io’s Collaborative Approach: Custom Combiner and Multicoupler Design

At Telewave.io, we pride ourselves on our collaborative approach to solving complex communication challenges. Recently, we partnered with Communications Northwest to create a system that met their unique requirements.

The proposed system consisted of 7 TX channels and 8 RX channels that were closely spaced with intermodulation issues.  Several of the channels were simplex channels, further complicating the system design.

Together, we designed and built a 7-Channel TX Combiner and an 8-Channel RX multicoupler that addressed the intermodulation issue and minimized the adjacent channel noise for the closely spaced channels. This project required a seamless transition through multiple phases, from sales to system engineering, and finally to manufacturing. Each step of the process was meticulously managed to ensure quality and precision.

Here’s a glimpse into our journey with Communications Northwest:

  • Consultation and Needs Assessment: Our sales team worked closely with the client to gain a basic understanding of their specific requirements and constraints. This stage of the process involved gathering the basic system requirements including TX/RX frequencies and TX power.
  • Design and Engineering:   Engineering reviewed the basic system requirements and worked with the customer to finalize the system requirements. Engineering then developed a detailed design that mitigated the intermodulation issues and minimized the adjacent channel noise for the closely spaced channels.  
  • Manufacturing and Quality Control: With the design in place, our manufacturing team began construction. Using state-of-the-art technology and rigorous quality control processes, we ensured that each component met the highest standards.
  • Delivery and Support: After manufacturing, we delivered the completed system to Communications Northwest. Our team provided on-site support to ensure smooth installation and operation. We continue to offer ongoing maintenance and technical assistance to keep the system running at peak performance.
